Dear Ellis,
It’s been a while! Life has a nasty habit of moving on, while you’re still hanging onto the moment you’re in. It’s hard to condense how much you’ve been on my mind recently. I’ve often thought about our relationship and how the “flame of friendship” feels that it’s died over time.
Then again, not all relationships have the passion forever, right? Marriages tends to lose their passion; heck! Even fans of sports teams lose their passion eventually. It doesn’t mean they stop supporting the team, it just means that the team isn’t on their screen every weekend. To some degree, I imagine tickets to games become less of a priority — other things are just more easily accessible, or more convenient.
I don’t want to believe that our friendship is based on convenience, proximity or how we happen to feel in the moment. No! I want to believe that there’s something more to it - something more … eternal.
On that note, I’ve got to shoot — the children need their bath.
Eternally, Jarryd
